New MINI JCW Inventory in Seattle: Which John Cooper Works Is Yours?
MINI USA sells three John Cooper Works models for the 2027 model year: the JCW 2 Door, the JCW Convertible, and the JCW Countryman ALL4. Here's how they differ, who each one suits on Seattle roads, and how to shop the JCW cars on the ground at Seattle MINI on Lake City Way NE.
Quick Answer: What JCW models can you buy new in Seattle?
You can buy three new John Cooper Works models: the JCW 2 Door and JCW Convertible (228 hp, front-wheel drive) and the JCW Countryman ALL4 (312 hp, all-wheel drive). All three use a 7-speed sport dual-clutch automatic. MINI USA doesn't offer a JCW version of the Cooper 4 Door or an electric JCW for 2027, so any "JCW 4 Door" or "JCW Electric" listing you find isn't a new US-market car. Seattle MINI's new JCW inventory page shows which of the three are in stock or arriving right now.
The 2027 JCW Lineup at a Glance
| Model | Output | 0-60 mph | Drive | Seats | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| JCW 2 Door | 228 hp / 280 lb-ft | 5.9 s | Front-wheel drive | 4 | The purest, lightest JCW for back roads and weekend drives |
| JCW Convertible | 228 hp / 280 lb-ft | 6.2 s | Front-wheel drive | 4 | Top-down summer drives, with the same engine as the 2 Door |
| JCW Countryman ALL4 | 312 hp / 295 lb-ft | 5.2 s | ALL4 all-wheel drive | 5 | Year-round performance, cargo room, and wet-road traction |
Every figure in this table matches our JCW horsepower and 0-60 table, which also covers curb weight, top speed, and power-to-weight.
Which JCW Fits Your Seattle Life?
All three share the JCW recipe: a tuned 2.0-liter turbo four, JCW sport brakes, and a firmer chassis. They split on how you'll actually use the car day to day.
JCW 2 Door: the driver's pick
The smallest, lightest JCW, and the one that feels most like a go-kart. It's a great fit if you park on Capitol Hill or in Ballard, carry one passenger most days, and want the car that feels busiest on a winding road. The rear seats and cargo area are small, so a regular Costco run or a dog crate will stretch it.
JCW Convertible: the summer car
Same 228 hp and 280 lb-ft as the 2 Door, plus a folding soft top. The convertible's added weight costs a few tenths to 60 mph (6.2 s against 5.9 s). Buy it if the dry months from July to September are what you're shopping for and you're fine with a soft top the rest of the year.
JCW Countryman ALL4: the all-rounder
It's the quickest JCW (5.2 s to 60) and the only one with all-wheel drive, five seats, and real cargo space. It suits drivers who commute over the 520 bridge, head to Snoqualmie Pass on winter weekends, or need one car to do everything. It shares a body with the regular Countryman, so compare it with our new Countryman inventory guide if you're deciding whether you need the JCW power.
Not sure JCW is worth it at all?
For many drivers the Cooper S is plenty. Our JCW vs. Cooper S comparison explains honestly where the extra power, brakes, and suspension pay off and where they don't. If you're still choosing a body style, start with which MINI is right for you.
Seattle tip: think about rain before horsepower
From October through spring, Seattle roads stay damp more often than not. A front-drive JCW 2 Door is still a lot of fun in the wet, but the Countryman's ALL4 system puts its 312 hp down more easily on a greasy I-5 on-ramp. Whichever JCW you choose, the tires matter as much as the drivetrain. JCW models ride on performance rubber, and a set built for a hot, dry climate gives up wet grip in a Seattle November. Our guide to OEM tires for Seattle rain explains what to look for.
What's New for the 2027 Model Year
The 2027 changes are small, but they're useful to know when you read a window sticker or an inventory listing:
No-cost white roof option
JCW models in Signature Plus or Iconic trim can be ordered with a white roof and mirror caps at no extra cost. That's a new choice alongside the classic JCW contrast roof.
New interior color on the Cooper-based JCWs
Vescin Beige with Black Knit upholstery is now available on the JCW 2 Door and JCW Convertible. The Countryman lineup, including the JCW Countryman ALL4, moved to the 2027 model year with March 2026 production. The Cooper lineup changed over with July 2026 production.
That means a new JCW listing could be a 2026 or a 2027 model, depending on when it was built. The model year on the listing tells you which options it could have.
How to Shop Seattle MINI's JCW Inventory
Filter by body style first
On the JCW inventory page, narrow to the 2 Door, the Convertible, or the Countryman ALL4 before you look at color or options. The body style decides seating, cargo, drivetrain, and horsepower. Watch for Cooper S and Countryman S ALL4 listings with the JCW Style package: it adds the JCW aero kit, wheels, and brakes, but the engine is the Cooper S engine, not the JCW's.
Check the model year and trim
Check whether the car is a 2026 or a 2027, and whether it's Signature Plus or Iconic. Those details decide equipment like the 2027 no-cost white roof.
Book the drive that matches the car
Schedule a test drive for the specific car you're considering. If you're torn between a JCW and a Cooper S, ask to drive both back to back on the same roads.
Can't find the exact spec? Build one
If no car in stock has the color and options you want, you can build your own MINI and talk with the team about ordering it.
